Dozens of Communities

Where We've Worked

Tampa Bay is home base, and our senior living work has taken us well beyond it.

Tampa Bay

St. Petersburg Bay Pines Clearwater Largo Palm Harbor Tampa Temple Terrace Lutz Land O' Lakes

Across Florida

Sarasota Fort Myers Orlando Winter Park Clermont St. Augustine Boynton Beach Parkland

Out of State

St. Louis, Missouri

Some of that work came through operators who brought us along to their other communities. If you run more than one, you get one team that already knows how senior living operates: on-site service around Tampa Bay, and for buildings farther out, remote support day to day with travel for project work when a job needs hands on site.

Before You Hand Over Access

How We Protect Your Community

A BAA when you need one

If your community handles protected health information as a HIPAA covered entity, a signed Business Associate Agreement is a standard part of onboarding.

Fully insured, cyber included

We carry $1M/$2M general liability, $1M cyber liability and errors & omissions insurance, so if something goes wrong on our watch, there's a policy behind us, not just an apology. Certificate of insurance on request.

Background-checked owner

The person who accesses your network is the owner, Alden Stenberg, who has passed a background check, and your signed agreement binds Bay Geeks to confidentiality.

Documented data handling

A written policy governs access, retention and secure end-of-life drive destruction, from procurement through disposal.

A senior living community is not a typical office. Staff need dependable systems while they care for residents, families expect reliable Wi-Fi when they visit, and downtime is more than an inconvenience: it can affect resident care and safety. We work across independent living, assisted living and memory care divisions, and we're comfortable with multi-site networks and multi-building campuses, where reliable connectivity has to extend well beyond a single office.

Day to day, that means keeping a handful of things working: the Wi-Fi that residents, guests and staff all lean on, the cabling and cameras behind it, the computers and tablets staff chart on, and the phones. A charting station that drops off the network or Wi-Fi that goes quiet in one wing lands on care staff first, which is why Premium and Advanced clients get a 2-hour response target during business hours.

We take a compliance-minded approach to protecting sensitive resident data: who has access to it, where it's stored, and how it's backed up and encrypted. Call to schedule a site survey and we'll walk your community with you to identify gaps before they become problems.

Common Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you work with independent living, assisted living and memory care?

Yes, all three. We've worked across independent living, assisted living and memory care divisions, including multi-building campuses where the network has to cover far more than a front office.

Can you support more than one community?

Yes. We're comfortable with multi-site networks, and we've worked at dozens of senior living communities. Around Tampa Bay we come on-site. For communities farther out, day-to-day support is remote, and we travel for project work when a job needs hands on site.

Our community is outside Tampa Bay. Can you still help?

Often, yes. Our senior living work has taken us to Sarasota, Fort Myers, Orlando, Winter Park, Clermont, St. Augustine, Boynton Beach and Parkland, and as far as St. Louis, Missouri. Call 727-579-4335, tell us where you are and what you need, and we'll tell you how we'd handle it.

Should residents, guests and staff share one Wi-Fi network?

No. We keep resident and guest Wi-Fi on its own network, separate from the one staff computers, charting stations and phones use, so a visitor's phone or a resident's tablet never sits on the same network as resident records.

What happens when a charting station or tablet goes offline?

We handle the side we can put hands on: the computer or tablet, the Wi-Fi and the network behind it. Premium and Advanced clients get a 2-hour response target during business hours. If the problem turns out to be inside the care software itself, that goes to the software vendor's support, and we'll tell you so quickly rather than leave you guessing.

We don't have an IT person on staff. Can you be our IT department?

Yes. That's what our maintenance plans are for: monitoring, patching, cloud backup and Bay Geeks EDR on every covered computer, with remote support from a live technician on the Premium and Advanced plans. Think of us as an extension of your team.

Will you sign a Business Associate Agreement (BAA)?

Yes. If your community handles protected health information as a HIPAA covered entity, a signed BAA is a standard part of onboarding, and it's in place before we're given ongoing access to your network, not after.

Is Bay Geeks a local IT company in St. Petersburg?

Yes. Bay Geeks has been in business since 2004 and works from its own office at 1655 20th Ave S., St. Petersburg, FL 33712 (map and directions). We support assisted living and senior care communities across Pinellas and Hillsborough on-site, remotely and with pickup & return, and same-day appointments are usually available. Call 727-579-4335.

Start With Evidence

Not Sure Where Your Community Stands?

Our Business Risk Assessment inspects your accounts, email, computers, backups, office network and what the internet can see, then ranks every finding in plain English and prices the fixes. It is not a certification or a legal opinion.

$495 flat for up to 10 computers, and $25 for each additional computer or server. Multi-location operators are quoted on the scoping call. The fee is credited toward a maintenance plan if you start one within 30 days of the walkthrough.

When Families Ask AI

Which Communities Does AI Recommend?

Families choosing a community now ask ChatGPT and other AI assistants questions like “What are the best assisted living communities near Largo?” The answer names a few. Our free AI Answer Snapshot asks the assistants the questions families ask, then shows you which communities they named, whether yours was one of them, and the sources they cited.

Free, with no obligation. If there’s a gap, Search & AI Visibility Care tracks those answers every week and works on the sources behind them every month.
